Let's Have Bright Hopes Quilt Block

The bright hopes quilt block is a variation of the nine patch. It uses the same nine patch grid system.

This quilt block uses only squares. How easy can that be?

To complete one block for a sampler quilt:

Block size: 6 inches

Materials:
Fat quarter fabric in four colors
(purple/pink print, purple, pink and white)
Batting
Backing

Step 1 - Use the rotary cutting techniques.

Cut 2 patches 2 ½” x 4 ½” from the purple/pink print fabric.
Cut 2 patches 2 ½” square from the purple fabric.
Cut 2 patches 2 ½” square from the pink fabric.
Cut 1 patch 2 ½” square from the white fabric.

Step 2 - Sew row one - purple/pink print rectangle, purple square.

Step 3 - Sew row two - pink square, white square, purple square.

Step 4 - Sew row three - pink square, purple/pink print rectangle.

Step 5 - Sew the rows together to complete the quilt block.
